Annual Health Checks

People with a learning disability may be more likely to experience physical and mental health issues.

An annual health check can help you stay well by giving you the chance to talk to a doctor or nurse about your health. It can also help find any problems early so they can be treated or managed.

If you feel nervous about seeing a doctor, or if there’s anything we can do to help make your appointment easier, please let the doctor or nurse know – we’re here to support you. You will receive an invitation to attend a face-to-face appointment at Island Health.

If you think you may have missed your appointment or haven’t received an invitation, please call our friendly reception team, who will be happy to help you book in.
